The Meeting of Masters

A series of bi-weekly articles chronicling the number of skills involved in making a Backes & Strauss timepiece.

The undisputed Master of Diamonds since 1789, Backes & Strauss expertly polish and cut diamonds of exceptionally high quality, producing jaw-dropping diamond watches. Our specialization is the ideal-cut diamond which creates maximum brilliance, ensuring our ladies’ diamond watches really shine. Here, we reveal the steps a diamond must go through to ensure its place in our wide range of Swiss jewelry watches - from soil to sparkle, a Backes & Strauss watch epitomizes the highest level of craftsmanship and British luxury.

The project included the research to create a list of the 40 skills which go into waking the diamond watch. Each skill has been described by the relevant craftsman and recorded visually with the photos, which was then commissioned to an illustrator and a blog writer to put into a piece of an exciting read. Each blog post was revealing the unique behind-the-scenes stories both in diamond craft and watchmaking.

The blogs were used within the website content strategy and social media strategy. They were made to highlight the two major cornerstones of the brand: craftsmanship and heritage, which are inevitable part of the brand storytelling.
